A Brief Discussion On The Characteristics Of Wedge-type Tension Clamps In Power Fittings
Stainless Steel & Fixing Nail The wedge's splitting force is used to lock the steel strand in the clamp. The wedge-type tension clamp body and wedge are made of malleable cast iron. The steel strand is bent into the same shape as the wedge and installed in the clamp. When the steel strand is stressed, the wedge and the steel strand slide along the clamp tube wall toward the clamp outlet at the same time, becoming tighter and tighter and gradually locked.
1. Wedge-type tension clamp
The wedge-type tension clamp is used to install steel strands, tighten lightning arresters and guy wires of guy towers. The wedge-type tension clamp is easy to install and remove. After the steel strand is installed, the outlet end of the clamp is tied to the load-bearing wire with No. 8 galvanized iron wire or the end is fixed at the tangent point with a steel wire clip.
2. Wedge-type UT-type tension clamp
During the installation or operation of the guy wire of the guy tower, the tension of the guy wire must be adjusted to balance it. To facilitate the installation or adjustment of the guy wire, the adjustable guy wire clamp is installed near the guy wire rod extending from the lower end of the guy wire.
The guy wire can be adjusted by using a basket screw or a wedge-shaped UT-shaped tension clamp, but currently the guy wire tower of the line rarely uses a basket screw to adjust the guy wire. The wedge-shaped UT-shaped tension clamp consists of a wedge nut, a wedge and a long U-shaped screw with a certain adjustment range. The clamp is used to fix the guy wire and adjust the length of the guy wire. This clamp is suitable for installing galvanized steel stranded wire with model GJ-25-70.
3. Wedge-shaped UT-shaped tension clamp (non-adjustable)
The non-adjustable UT-shaped tension clamp is used to fix the upper end guy wire of the guy wire tower. This clamp is easier to install than the wedge-shaped tension clamp. Its U-shaped screw cannot adjust the length, but using this UT-shaped tension clamp to fix the upper end guy wire can reduce the number of connecting hardware.
The standard wedge-type tension clamp and UT-type tension clamp are both single-wedge structures. Therefore, attention should be paid to the force direction of the wedge during installation. Incorrect installation will cause the steel strand to be subjected to great bending stress at the clamp outlet, resulting in breakage of the steel strand and reduction of the mechanical strength of the clamp.
