Analysis Of The Causes Of Severe Corrosion Of The Wire Rod
Distribution box Causes of severe corrosion
During the process of line reconstruction, the wire rods and grounding down conductors of the old towers were excavated and inspected. It was found that the grounding down conductors and rods of most towers were intact above the ground, but the ground was seriously corroded 20 to 40 cm below the ground. The most serious corrosion reached 3/4, and the rods were likely to break at any time.
According to the statistics of the operation data "Two Rod Excavation Inspection Record", if the new line is located in a general pollution area, the grounding down conductors and rods need to be inspected and replaced in about 5 to 7 years; if it is located in a severely polluted area, the service life is even shorter.
The grounding down conductor of the tower is an important part of the tower lightning protection device. Its function is to connect the tower lightning protection line with the grounding network cable buried underground. The grounding wire is buried deep underground and cannot be exposed to abundant oxygen, so the corrosion is not serious. However, since the grounding wire is the grounding wire connecting the tower above the ground and the underground, it is exposed to the soil and air containing rich moisture and oxygen all year round, which aggravates the corrosion of this part. Therefore, the grounding wire between the ground and the ground in the entire grounding device is the most seriously corroded.
The main reason for the rust of the grounding wire and the pull rod is the serious environmental pollution, accounting for 65%, followed by poor manufacturing process, insufficient galvanizing layer or human damage.
