Insulation Piercing Connector is a metal accessory that connects and combines various devices, transfers machinery, electrical loads and plays a certain protective role in the power system, and plays an important role in power transmission and transformation projects. Product quality is not only related to the safe operation of the power grid, but also to the safety of personal and property. As early as 1986, the relevant departments of the State Council included power fittings products in the production license management. The production license units of power fittings are divided into malleable cast iron, forging, aluminum-copper-aluminum, and cast iron. According to the role of the product, it is usually divided into 9 categories, including suspension wire clamps, tension wire clamps, connection hardware, splicing hardware, protective hardware, wire pulling hardware, equipment wire clamps, T-type wire clamps, and fixed hardware, which are used in power transmission and transformation projects of various voltage levels.
Since the implementation of the product production license for power fittings, there are more than 210 licensed enterprises, including 3 foreign-funded enterprises, with a total of more than 410 product units. Manufacturers are distributed all over the country, with Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces accounting for more than 1/3 of the total. The product units and varieties of enterprises are different, and the production scale varies greatly, with annual output values ranging from several million to hundreds of millions. At present, there are about 30 enterprises with the qualification to produce 500KV power transmission and transformation fittings, 15 enterprises producing 750KV power transmission and transformation fittings, and 11 enterprises producing 1000KV ultra-high voltage power transmission and transformation fittings; these enterprises have strong production capacity and high management level, and are in the leading position of current power fittings.
The number of product units obtained by the certified enterprises varies. There are more than 50 enterprises that have obtained 4 product units. Enterprises with the qualification to produce 500KV and above line fittings basically have 4 product unit certificates; most of the enterprises with 3 or 2 product units do not produce malleable cast iron products for environmental reasons, and most of the enterprises with 1 product unit are malleable cast iron products and pre-twisted fittings. Pre-twisted fittings are mainly used for OPGW and ADSS optical cables. There are more than a dozen manufacturers such as PLP. Enterprises with one product unit only produce shock-absorbing hammers or insulated wire matching fittings. Such enterprises are generally not very large.
During the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, the State Grid Corporation and the Southern Grid Corporation invested more than 1.4 trillion yuan in the power grid, and the State Grid Corporation's 1000KV Nanyang-Jingmen UHV DC is under construction. The development of power construction has promoted the continuous increase in investment in equipment and the development of new products by production enterprises. For example, cast aluminum adopts die-casting technology, surface shot peening, and the material is also expanded from ZL102 to ZL104 and 101A, which improves the strength and appearance quality of aluminum castings. Various power fittings enterprises have added large-scale equipment such as 800, 1000, and 1250-ton high-pressure die-casting machines, 630 and 1000-ton friction presses, medium-frequency heating equipment, CXE CNC cutting machines, CNC pipe bending machines, and 1000KN horizontal tensile machines to their processing equipment, greatly improving the production and testing capabilities of enterprises.
Experts in the power fittings industry pointed out that the future development trend of power fittings products will mainly focus on energy-saving fittings for power transmission and distribution lines above 500KV. Such as: aluminum alloy suspension wire clamps, pre-twisted power fittings, damping spacers, equalizing rings, energy-saving anti-vibration hammers and new non-magnetic materials to replace ferromagnetic materials to manufacture ordinary fittings for energy saving. Power fittings companies can only continuously increase equipment investment, adopt advanced technology, improve product quality and enhance market competitiveness.
