What Are The Types Of Electrical Fittings Based On Their Uses
According to the function and structure, it can be divided into suspension wire clamps, tension wire clamps, UT wire clamps, connection hardware, connection hardware, protection hardware, equipment wire clamps, T-type wire clamps, busbar hardware, wire pulling hardware and other categories; according to the purpose, it can be used as line hardware and substation hardware. Generally speaking, we distinguish them by performance and purpose, mainly divided into the following categories:
1) Suspension hardware. Also known as support hardware or suspension wire clamps. This hardware is mainly used to suspend the wire insulator string (mostly used for straight pole towers) and suspend jumpers on insulator strings.
2) Anchor bracket. Also known as fastening hardware or wire-resistant wire clamps. This hardware is mainly used to fasten the terminal of the wire to fix it on the wire-resistant insulator string, and is also used to fix the terminal of the lightning conductor and anchor the wire. The anchoring hardware bears all the tension of the conductor and the lightning conductor
3) Connection hardware. Also known as hanging wire parts. This hardware is used to connect insulators into strings and connect hardware to hardware. It bears mechanical loads. Such as hanging rings, hanging plates, ball head hanging rings, U-shaped screws, connecting plates, hooks, etc.
4) Connecting hardware. This hardware is specially used to connect various bare wires and lightning conductors. The connection bears the same electrical load as the wire, and most of the connecting hardware bears the full tension of the wire or lightning conductor, such as the connecting tube and the parallel groove wire clamp.
5) Protective hardware. This hardware is used to protect wires, insulators, etc., such as equalizing rings for protecting insulators, heavy hammers for preventing insulator strings from being pulled up, and anti-vibration hammers, protective wires, and spacers for preventing wire vibration. The figure below shows an anti-vibration hammer.
6) Contact hardware. This hardware is used to connect hard busbars, soft busbars and outlet terminals of electrical equipment, T-connections of wires and non-load-bearing parallel connection, etc. These connections are electrical contacts. Therefore, the contact hardware is required to have higher conductivity and contact stability, such as the T-shaped wire clamp in the figure below.
7) Wire pulling hardware. Mainly used for wire pulling connection of wire pulling towers, it is divided into wire pulling fastening and connection. The main ones are wedge-shaped wire clamps and tension-resistant pre-twisted wires. The picture below shows a wedge-shaped wire clamp.
